I haven’t put up recommendations for a couple of days… to be honest I was hoping that BCUK might take the hint and start doing it instead. But so far, no joy.

So here we go…. These are the ones I was going to post last week – there may be more posts on the sites since I visited, but I link to individual posts not the entire blog so perhaps it won’t matter.

I try to browse recent posts off an on through the day in order to be as fair as I can. And I do consider virtually any type of blog on the basis that it should be (a) interesting (b) funny (c) informative (d) well written or any combination thereof.

I don’t normally recommend a very first post on a blog – it’s not fair to the blogger – and I do draw the line at text speak (or TXT SPK) which I simply cannot read. Apart from that… well, let’s see what’s turned up….

The weekend's recommended blogs

A couple of points I wanted to make about Tylluan’s Recommended Blogs here. Firstly, I am linking (mostly) to individual posts rather than to complete blogs. I don’t have the time to check out an entire blog.

Secondly, this blog of mine is in no way implying that any of the blogs on BCUK’s ‘Featured Blogs’ page are undeserving. Most are excellent. But the list hardly changes. There are other good blogs out there, and I think it’s great to go and visit them, too.

Thirdly – why do I recommend some blogs? Well, I like to recommend something different, something that informs, entertains, is well written or plain quirky. I am just one person. I am going to make mistakes: put in the not-so-good and leave out the bloody brilliant from time to time. I am doing my best though, and I assure readers that whatever else I happen to be, I am not lazy.

But yesterday’s stats for this blog were a tad intriguing. Just before midnight I checked:

Recommended blogs for Saturday and Sunday

I have been collecting new blogs to share with you, off and on for the past 24 hours. It's not made any easier by certain blogs that just keep posting the same entries again, and again, and again.......I mean some seem to put up a dozen or more in an hour, which is annoying because it is pushing other blogs right off the radar. It wouldn't be so bad if they were posting something new, but when it's identical entries it's just not funny any more....

In fact, they have really spoiled the job for me today, because at one point in TEN PAGES, there were only about half a dozen blogs that I could find in recent posts. The rest were all ONE site posting the same thing over and over.

Anyway, enough of all this. Here are my entries for late Satruday and hopefully also Sunday. If I get chance I may well post up a few more tomorrow, we'll just see how it goes.

Much as I dearly loved the last design I was using, I have decided to change. The whole point about this blog is that it ought to be easy to use and navigate and not give us eye strain. So here we are - back to cool, clean and easy to read. Please let me know what you think!

I've just added a couple of extras tonight in an effort to avoid losing interesting blogs that will slip through the 'recent posts' if I only check in now and then.

It's all new to me, so I'm doing my best and suggestions are welcomed. Menhir has mentioned that she finds the layout of this blog rather difficult - does anyone else find that? I was just so pleased I'd managed to find a green layout!

I try to be fair to everyone here. There is no secret formula.. I simply go through the recent posts and see if there is anything I think my friends' might enjoy. Then I leave a comment on the post so that the blog owner knows what I'm doing, and put a link to the blog here. Simple.

Tylluan's Featured Blogs Part 1

No, not the ones you find on BCUK's home page.... this is my idea. Every so often I shall have a browse through recent posts and select a few interesting blogs here. If they are of interest to you, then maybe you would like to visit them.

I originally set up this post over on The Magical World of Tylluan Penry blog. THen I decided (rather daringly, I thought, considering my complete inability to work the computer) that I would set up a separate blog just for the blogs I recommend. This will make it easier for anyone to scroll through the posts and find blogs that might interest them.

Let's see how it works, shall we? Maybe we can all find new friends this way and get Blogland moving again.... and please feel free to put your own suggestions either in the comments section here, or on your own pages.
